Guanciale Pizza is a traditional Italian pizza that features guanciale, a cured pork jowl, as the star ingredient. Guanciale is known for its rich and savory flavor, and it adds a unique and delicious taste to the pizza.


  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 ounces guanciale (cured pork jowl), thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Step 1: Preheat the oven to 450℉(252℃).

Step 2: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface until it's about 1/4 inch thick.

Step 3: Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about 1/2 inch around the edges.

Step 4: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese. Evenly distribute the thinly sliced guanciale on top of the cheese.

Step 5: Sprinkle the chopped fresh basil and red pepper flakes (if using) over the guanciale. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 6: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
